Arts

The visual and performing arts have always been well represented in Wirral with a particularly dynamic amateur sector. There are many artists associations, amateur dramatic organisations, school and community orchestras as well as an increasing number of professional arts practitioners in Wirral. We have very fine collections of oils, watercolours and ceramics at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum and fine collections of paintings, prints, drawings and sculpture at The Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight Village. We also have some very well established private galleries. Performing and media arts are increasingly well represented in the professional arena with groups and individual artists engaged in excellent work. Whether making your way through the world of amateur or professional art Wirral offers excellent training through schools, colleges and private tuition supported by less formal opportunities such as youth theatre and community groups.

This page will develop into an information point with links to visual, media and performing arts groups, artists and performers, galleries, venues and courses.
